The Chicago Association of Collegiate Alumnae was founded in 1888 to serve the many graduates of the colleges and universities of Chicago. Bow meet Marion Talbot, one of the association's earliest members! Talbot was born in New York in 1847 and graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1866. She became a professor of English literature at Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois, in 1888 after living for several years with her sister, Mrs. Lilla Howell Warren, in Woodstock, Massachusetts. Professor Talbot presented papers at the organization's meetings on “The Relation of Science to Women” and “The Woman Suffrage Movement.” She died at home.
