Tales from Shakespeare

This is an English children's book written by brother and sister Charles and Mary Lamb while retaining as much Shakespearean language as possible and "for the use of young people. "Mary Lamb was responsible for the retellings of the comedians and Charles the tragedians. They omitted the more complex historical tales, including all the Roman plays, and subsequently altered the ones they chose. The authors were recreating them sensitively, listening to the needs of young children, but not going back to the actual censoring. Despite its original target audience, the smallest ones may find this book a difficult read.
