The Breath of Life Or Mal-respiration. And Its Effects Upon the Enjoyments & Life of Man
This is a reproduction of George Catlin's "The Breath of Life Or Mal-respiration. And Its Effects Upon the Enjoyments & Life of Mankind," from 1832. Catlin was a painter, writer, and traveler who recorded the customs and daily life of North American Indians. He traveled to explore native villages in the Great Lakes region and on the Mississippi River, where he encountered a number of tribes, including the Sioux, Chippewa, Mandan, Assiniboine, Blackfoot, Crow, Cheyenne, Arapaho and Comanche. This illustration is from his book about Native Americans in North America. This is not a book. It is more of an event. The Breath of Life, or Mal-respiration. And Its Effects Upon the Enjoyments and Life of Man includes the first published account of the ravages of tuberculosis in North America.
