The Catholic National Series. The New Speller and Word Book

The Catholic National Series. The New Speller and Word Book is the second in a series of books, created for use by Catholic schools in America. The series are compiled from the original works of the best English authors, with such changes as were necessary to adapt them for use by Catholics. This particular work is composed of two volumes: Spelling and Word-Book. It was designed to be used in connection with the corresponding work in "the Little Hornbook Series." The object of these books is to furnish teachers with a complete set of elementary textbooks which will be the aid to successful teaching; whilst at the same time they will contain such information which will enable pupils who cannot attend school to study independently at home.
