Becqueriana : ópera en un acto, inspirada en una rima de Bécquer (Spanish Edition)
The author, José Luis Alonso de Santos, has been able to put in each of the scenes -nowadays better known by the name of "Los placeres prohibidos"- the essence of the poet. And it is not only about forbidden pleasures but also about the suffering of man when pleasures take over him. With the accompaniment of the National Symphony of Costa Rica, "Becqueriana" is a one-act opera written by María Rodrigo and produced by the National Center for the Arts. The work is inspired by the popular rhyme "La leche merengue", which becomes here the story of two lovers who through time fail to meet. The opera is a clever and captivating interpretation of the classic poem "A un río" by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. It tells the story of a woman who dreams of the river and, in her dream, imagines herself singing to it.
