Bi-literal cypher of Francis Bacon

In the late 19th century, Francis Bacon enlisted the help of a young linguist named Elizabeth Wells Gallup to translate his work from English into an ancient code. The result was a bi-literal cypher that used two alphabets - one to represent sounds and another to represent symbols and create a code that was impossible to break. This replica of Bacon's writing pad features his elegant script, Elizabeth's translations, and other notes in her hand. It also includes a reproduction of the first page of Bacon's "The Wisdom of the Ancients" as an example of how these codes were broken by Gallup and her team.
