It documents his life, his work as an educator, and the development of agriculture at the Massachusetts Agricultural College. William H. Bowker, son of the late Dr. William H. Bowker, a graduate of Dartmouth College and of the Theological Seminary at Newton Centre, Mass. Bowker was also an American educator and theologian who served as the President of Dartmouth College from 1887 to 1911. Bowker examines the life and thought of a man who was never a mainstream conservative yet whose educational philosophy shaped the progressive era.
