Richard Wagner an Minna Wagner

Some composers lead a life of such feverish creativity that they seem to leave their very souls in their music. They live through it and die by it. And when such a composer is also a composer for the voice, his operas seem to spring from an inner need for expression so consuming that the health of the artist himself may be jeopardized. Such was the case with Richard Wagner. Wagner's wife, Minna Wagner, wrote a book called "Richard Wagner an Minna Wagner," and published it in 1872 after his death. It is the only biography of him published during his lifetime. The book was written during their married life and covers their time together from 1836 to 1869.
