The Traveller

The Traveller is a novel by Oliver Goldsmith, first published posthumously in 1764. It has the distinction of being among the earliest Western novels and perhaps the first novel written in English by a woman, Ann Ward Radcliffe. The novel is set in various places, including Persia, Istanbul and Rome. It tells the story of an unnamed protagonist, who is called "The Traveller" throughout the book. The Traveller follows the story of a man who is making his way from Scotland to London.
